What does an alpaca eat?

Alpacas are ruminants: they chew their cud. They are able to find food even on the most barren land. In winter they should be given a little supplementary feed such as special alpaca feed (Alpa-care and Alpamin):

  • The high vitamin D content is good for healthy bones.
  • High quality coats are maintained by the Omega 3 fatty acids. The fibre will become even more lustrous.
  • Skin problems are prevented by the high zinc content. This makes the skin stronger.
  • Selenium and copper improve fertility.
